Tourniquet é uma banda de Thrash metal cristão, surgiu em 1990 em Los Angeles, EUA. A banda faz uma mistura de thrash metal, speed metal, metal progressivo, heavy metal, hard rock, hardcore, influênciados por compositores clássicos, como por exemplo, Beethoven e Bach, espiritualidade com perspectiva bíblica, recheadas por inspirações de jargões médicos, de Edgar Allan Poe e narrativas do velho testamento.

Impellitteri

1987 é o ano de lançamento do primeiro álbum de uma das maiores bandas cristãs da história. O clássico EP de capa preta levando como título apenas “Impellitteri” foi resultado de uma seção de demos entre Chris Impellitteri, que desde o inicio fora o mentor, líder e compositor de todas as músicas da banda e Rob Rock, ótimo vocalista que já havia participado da grande banda/projeto M.A.R.S junto com Tony MacAlpine, Tommy Aldridge e Rudy Sarzo, músicos que dispensam maiores comentários. Essa dupla já havia solidificado uma amizade durante o período em que participaram da extinta banda Vice, de 1983 á 1985.
